Publication | Applicants must be the first author for each submitted publication, and the contribution of each co-author must be clearly stated in the publication. Research journals may include review journals, monographs, books, chapters related to research, electronic publications, creative works, or high-quality artifacts that have never been used for any academic award. |
Structured Research Methodology Course | Students must pass three (3) Structured Research Methodology courses as recommended by the Main Supervisor as part of the award requirements. |
Exemptions from English language requirement may be granted to the following candidates:
- Students must pass three (3) Structured Research Methodology courses.
- Students must complete and pass all assessments for their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) by Publication studies (refer to PROGRAMME STRUCTURE).
- Faculty/Centre must ensure that students who intend to complete their studies within 6 months submit their thesis submission notice no later than the fourth (4th) week of the first semester. For the one-year duration, students may submit their notice by the sixth month of study.
- For studies within 6 months duration, students must undergo the Conceptual Defense Evaluation, which must be completed from the first (1st) to the fourth (4th) week of the first semester.
- Full-time and part-time students are required to be physically present at the industrial site at all times throughout their study period and, if necessary, may attend the UMPSA campus from time to time.
- Students must submit research progress reports at the prescribed times each semester.
- Students are subject to all university regulations and the Universities and University Colleges Act (AUKU) throughout their study period.
- International students are fully responsible for complying with the visa and immigration regulations set by the Malaysian government.
- A change in the study method is not allowed for students registered under this Publication method. Students must re-register if they wish to continue their studies under Conventional method or others.
- An extension of the study period is allowed up to a maximum of two (2) years only.
